access>CINEMA Network Receives Europa Cinemas’ Award
access>CINEMA is delighted to announce that its network has been awarded the Europa Cinemas’ prize of “Best Entrepreneur 2008”. access>CINEMA has been a member of Europa Cinemas since 2004.
Created in 1992, Europa Cinemas provides financial support to the cinemas currently screening on the 35mm format that commit themselves to the programming of a significant number of European films and to the organisation of promotional activities around European films for young people.
Every year the Europa Cinemas Board of Directors awards prizes to the best exhibitors in its network and this year decided to award the “Best Entrepreneur” Prize to two fundamental Irish initiatives, the development of access>CINEMA, and the building and reopening of the Light House Cinema, stating that “both show great dynamism and commitment towards European cinema”.
This significant award represents recognition by Europa Cinemas of the on-going hard work and commitment by the cinemas in the access>CINEMA network to the programming of European films.
The award will be presented at the 13th Europa Cinemas Conference in Paris on November 14th.
