access CINEMA wishes to appoint a DVD Programme Co-ordinator
access CINEMA is the resource organisation for regional cultural cinema exhibition in Ireland and is funded by the Arts Council. We work with a network of film societies, arts centres and arts festivals to develop cultural cinema locally. access CINEMA currently has over 75 member groups screening on either 35mm, D-CINEMA or DVD formats.
access CINEMA’s role is to support local programmers with advice and expertise as well as providing our core service, the booking and dispatch of films. access CINEMA has experienced strong growth in membership and audience numbers in recent years. We expect further growth and development in our activities in the future.
access CINEMA wishes to appoint a DVD Programme Coordinator on an initial 12 month fixed-term contract beginning in June 2012. This is a key position in the organisation and the person appointed will play a significant role in supporting what we do. A detailed job description is found below.

Reporting to the Director, the duties associated with the position advertised will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Co-ordinating DVD bookings
- Working with the Director to deliver access>CINEMA’s programme of events
- Managing and organising the office environment
- Offering administrative support to other staff
Skills/Competencies required:
Applicants must
- Be cognisant of the changing face of film distribution and exhibition in Ireland, keeping themselves updated on new developments in the sector
- Possess excellent inter-personal skills and be clear and concise in their dealings with member / client groups
- Have strong organisational skills and an ability to work on one’s own initiative
- Enjoy working in a small but busy team
- Have good written and verbal communication and presentation skills with excellent attention to detail
- Be a good timekeeper
Previous experience in film exhibition/distribution or the cultural sector is desirable.
A 1-year contract will be offered initially, beginning with a 3-month probationary period.
