Chinese Film Festival 2012
As part of the celebrations for the Chinese New Year, the DCNYF Chinese Film Festival will host a season of Chinese films for the second year in a row.
An integral part of the Dublin Chinese New Year Festival, the DCNYF Chinese Film Festival, will take place in Dublin between Friday Jan 20 and Monday Jan 23rd.
Highlights from the festival will screen regionally at the Belltable Arts Centre on Saturday January 21st and in St. Michael's Theatre, New Ross on Tuesday January 24th.

Romance sparkles during China's Cultural Revolution between a man and woman from different economic backgrounds…
Adapted from the popular 2007 novel, Hawthorn Tree Forever, by Ai Mi, the film is about a love that develops between a high school student, Zhang Jingqiu, and a handsome young prospector named Lao San, directed by China’s most famous and acclaimed film-maker, Zhang Yimou.

A bittersweet look at Chinese provincial life during the repressive 1970s through the eyes of an 11-year-old boy, by one of China’s greatest contemporary film-makers, Wang Xiaoshuai.
When confronted by a runaway murderer, Wang Han and his friends agree to keep the identity and location of the wounded man secret from the police.
