“★★★★★ No film this year has moved me more with its humor, heart and humanity.” Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

Lee (Casey Affleck) is a reclusive janitor who, when his older brother Joe dies suddenly, is forced to return to the Massachusetts hometown of Manchester he left years before. While trying to adjust to his new role as legal guardian to Patrick, Joe’s teenage son, Lee must also reconnect with his ex-wife Randi (Michelle Williams) and confront painful memories from his own past.

The third feature from writer-director Kenneth Lonergan (Margaret) is a layered and profoundly insightful exploration of loss and healing, which is grounded firmly in the exceptional performance by Affleck as a man who has become emotionally paralysed in the wake of personal tragedy.
