Audiences across Ireland will have an opportunity to see some of the best of European cinema this November – January as part of the European Award Season.
The successor to the Month of European Film, this two-month event – running from 18 November 2025 to 17 January 2026 – is aimed at showcasing the best of European cinema (classic and contemporary) across dozens of European cities and locations.
The event kicked off with the announcement of the nominees for the European Film Awards, and will end with the awards ceremony itself on 17 January.
European Film Academy Academy CEO Matthijs Wouter Knol says: “The European Award Season naturally links to the international award season and highlights the European films that very likely will continue to compete at awards outside Europe.
“This is a period in which the visibility of European cinema grows. We want to make people more curious about the European films they missed. It is an opportunity we would like to explore — together with our broad network of European partners.”
Many European films will be screening across the access CINEMA network over the course of the two-month event. You can find the list below, with more screenings to be announced over the coming weeks!
