access>CINEMA at Home: Styx

Directed by Wolfgang Fischer
Germany, Austria

“... a vital, highly intelligent movie that is both a first-class thriller and a biting commentary on our current world.” Time Out

Rike, an experienced emergency doctor, is undertaking the trip of a lifetime as she sails solo from Gibraltar across the Atlantic to Ascension Island. But following a storm, she is faced with uncertainty when she comes across a boat full of refugees.

Due to COVID-19, film clubs and arts centres across the access>CINEMA network are temporarily closed.

However through the access>CINEMA at Home virtual cinema experience, audiences can watch Styx online through participating arts centres / film clubs and our partner 606 Distribution.

If you rent Styx via your local film club or arts centre, you will get the opportunity to support that organisation by selecting to donate part of the proceedings from the rental fee you pay to them, and so directly support that organisation's future film programme.
